You wouldn’t think handling knives is so relaxing, but once you’re comfortable with them the work is soothing.

Never tried swords. Kind of hard to be under the radar with one strapped to your back. I’ve fought guys with swords though, so I’m familiar with the basic principle. I’m sure we could both teach each other a few tricks.

I heard of kidnappings that were resolved just before I awakened? Things seem medium-dire, but I’m worried about minors doing this kind of work. I suppose there isn’t anything I can do about it, but still. I’ll get a small safe or something. Just in case.

[As much as Dirk wants to keep talking about blades, he is forced to concede it's a less relevant topic. For now.]

I wouldn't say 'just' before. There were a few weeks in between. Which isn't a long time, but when you're measuring time in months at most, it's worth making the distinction. I awakened while they were still missing.

And now that I put it that way, I guess I have to agree with you. It's not just a matter of putting weapons in their hands. Like, Death plays a magic guitar, and I'm under the impression that's not any less useful than a sword. But they need skills, and they need maturity. Both of those can be gained with experience and training, but once you factor in the tight time frame I just mentioned...

Hmm. Don't like that. The superficial lethality of a weapon is probably not the part you should be clutching your pearls over, but you still have a point.

[Reducing Dirk's confidence in his teammates may not have been Reese's goal here, but it's what he's accomplished. Good job!]
