I don’t have many hobbies. Learning those things was necessary, rather than for pleasure.

What situation were you in that required you to learn chess? Or is that just a hobby?

Chess was required for three hours each week during mandatory school. I found it calming even as I aggravated my peers. Makes talking to the old folks in the park easy. The younger ones too, if you've patience. So I keep at it.
