Verse 3 Gaiden: The Song Blood Sings

Where: the Pharmacy, across from Lucky Stars Arcade.
When: June 7
What: Natalia asks Luomen to see to her wounds the day after the fight with Smoothie Operator.
Warning: Injuries, medical drama

She steps into the pharmacy and pauses, taking it in gratefully-- the bitter smell of medicine and unfamiliar herbs in the air. She's in casual clothes, though she's wearing a bolero and a long skirt to cover her bruises from casual observers, and arranged her hair so that the one on her neck isn't easily visible. Say this for layered fashion, you could mix and match the clothing to match your mood, or in this case, your wounds.

Still, there's more than a little trepidation as she looks towards the counter. "... May I speak with Luomen?"

The young man behind the counter hesitated, but nodded, and slowly herded Natalia into a room.

"You asked for me?" This kindly-looking old man, then, must be Luomen.

"... Maomao recommended you, and so I wanted to consult," Natalia explained. "If it's a matter of money, I can pay, but..."

"You've been in sometimes, I think I recognize you. Cramps, wasn't it?"

Natalia found her head and eyes a bit heavy. But it was fine. There was so much yet to do ahead of the chance to get Maya and Hope home. "Sometimes. But that's not why I'm here. I play lacrosse, but I'm a little new, and so I haven't really learned how to absorb stick checks properly."

"Ah, I see. Well, let's get a look at you, then."

Natalia had been dreading this, swallowed and started to pull off the clothes. She knows it's a tapestry. And heavy armor, while it provides many benefits, has left its marks on her as well.

Luomen looked at the damage and blinked. Easy enough to see the damage. Oddly distributed bruises, some minor lesions, a good healing set of bra strap injuries. Blunt force trauma in several areas. "You've been fighting, rather."

"... I should... not have lied. There have been... Four fights, I think. Not. With my lacrosse team." She paused. How much was it safe to tell him?

"No, it's quite all right. It's hard to trust someone examining you for the first time, isn't it?" Luomen said, with a smile. "... I'm going to write up something for the anemia. You should also have more iron; especially given your cramps are already bad enough to self-medicate; this can either be through a change in diet or through iron supplements."

She tried to listen to the many and varied instructions. Normally she's so good about this. "Don't worry, I'm writing all this down. And... Please get some rest. Anemia already makes someone exhausted, and pushing harder is only going to make things worse, all right?"

"... Yes," Natalia lied. She still had things she had to do. Her hands curled in her lap.

"And... Please, when you get injured, see a doctor, okay?"

Natalia blinked back tears, and swallowed them. She didn't have time to cry. Even this... Even this, wasn't it a waste of time...!? Lives were at stake. Not just those she knew, but... Slowly, she swayed left. Swayed right. Nodded. "Thank you."

"Be careful going home, too."

Natalia's lips curved into a smile. Things that worked in the night were scared of her, after all. "I shall."
